Working with arrays
This lesson covers the array, which handles several values together.
An array is declared as name=(value1 value2 value3). To take every element you write ${name[@]}, and for the element count ${#name[@]}.
The sample code creates the array fruits=("apple" "orange" "grape") and displays every element with for f in "${fruits[@]}"; do echo "$f"; done.
A common early stumble is separating the elements with commas. A shell script array lists its values separated by spaces: (value1 value2 value3).
In professional work, arrays are used to hold a list of file names or server names, and combined with a for loop to process them all in one pass.
